International Postage

Did you ever wonder how Chinese sellers can send most items to the US with free shipping? It is not because the Chinese government subsidizes their postal system... it is because the US postal system is subsidizing them with the very cheap rates! https://www.forbes.com/sites/wadeshepard/2017/11/05/h...

Re: Residential Lighting with LEDs: Retrofitting the Pink Ranch

Jacko - I think the difference you observe may be related to the total illuminated power versus the peak illumination. The incandescent having a lot more area under the spectral curve due to broader emissions and the LED spec'd at is narrower peak. What made me think of this is an FFT analog. Or RM...

Float charger is crap and probably needs to go in the dumpster. (or maybe modified) The wind blew a shutter off the h...

Re: Residential Lighting with LEDs: Retrofitting the Pink Ra

My only complaint is that they are not available in bulk, instead they are packaged individually in ridiculous 8 1/2 x 11 hard plastic. By the time I outfit my house with these things I'll have a full 96gal trash bin There is a good reason for that... customers steal, especially expensive items. No...

Re: Are Linear Bench Supplies Really Quieter Than Switchers?

Thanks for the update. I bet the AC-powered performance WRT leakage current and hum will vary greatly with the particular USB supply used. Still curious to see if there's a direct galvanic path between the USB DC 0V and the Switcher output 0V. The power supply uses the LT3471 regulator and there do...
