New drier arrived today and they took the old one away to recycle. The new one I am willing to be has all the same parts in as the old but is quieter and gets hotter quicker. Wife is happy. This gains me more lab time over the weekend so money well spend :)

Ugh. Unpowered everything checks out but when running only a few volts to the heaters. I hoped it was the relay, but that's fine. Unless I have missed something the timer has a worn/dirty contact that can't take any power. Of course that part is £60... And I am not taking a clockwork apart to try an...

well its not the heaters, not the thermal trip, not the thermostat. So next step it to turn it on its back and check the wiring back from the motor.

Low heat mode has been dicky for a while. I'll pull it out tonight and do basic checks as we have a laundry backlog!

Checking conversion again closer to $190. Electric dryers are cheap here. you can pay a fortune for a phone controlled Internet of crap one, but I want a basic vented model.

Tumble drier has bust again. There was a trip of the power yesterday after which it stopped heating... Hmm Probably $50 in bits for thermostat and new heater etc or $150 for a brand new unit. I may give in.

Wife away with kids for a couple of days so time to crack on. And first dumb question. How did you intend the shield drive to be setup for remote switching of gain? I'll just be switching between A&B on the first build.
