Looks more like the SeaView circuitry room.

Yes, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all. Are felicitations fattening?

Re: Neve 1084 Project

Yep, Tants in the audio path. Tried to go original. I did use 2 bipolar electros in the audio path. Love that Carnhill iron.

Neve 1084 Project

I finally finished my Dual Mid 1084 project. Here are some photos. I have some small orange knob caps ordered, but they will take another 8 weeks to get here. The rack is a Dumpster Prize (green, huh?), and the faceplates are custom 2"x7" from FPE. The transformers, inductors, and switches...

Wow, great sound! More samples, please, like a Fender Rhodes.

I like 20 dB pads. Gets you out of trouble in a hurry. My $0.02.

Re: Electronic Design IFD: Modified Schoeps Capsule Design

Will do, although probably not until next week. You are right, the Schoeps are about the hottest, although I think that the Shure SM98 about 2" from a tom head is pretty hot too. Do you want me to check a transient (like a wood block) or something continuous (leaf blower, table saw, etc.)? Best...

Re: Electronic Design IFD: Modified Schoeps Capsule Design

Worth looking at, not sure it's worth copying... I played around with phantom powered DI's that were far simpler, but I wan't trying to drive a long line with a lot of capacitance. Were you able to view the THD comparisons vs. Cload? The figures in the online version don't exactly jump off the page...

Re: Transformer Inductance

Thanks folks,
Looks like plan B. Buy the transformer and measure it.
I've seen some LC meters on eBag that will go up to 20H for about $30. Anybody ever used one of these?

Transformer Inductance

I need a fairly large inductance in a small package, so I thought about using a miniature audio transformer with the windings connected in series. Is there a way to figure out what the inductance would be, knowing the impedance and the DC resistance (or should I just buy one and measure it)? Thanks!...
