Re: CE certification

I'm not sure what a "local standard institute" is here in the U.S. I can't answer that, but I'm sure UL will tell you. In France, it's AFNOR, in Germany DIN, in the UK BSI, all are members of the ISO. I don't understand why they don't make the information readily available on the European Commissio...

Re: CE certification

Download an owner'smanual from any reputable manufacturer. There ought to be a page with all the certs, so you'll know what you should look for. Then you'll have to purchase the relevant documents from your local standard institute or whatever you call it. The hard thing is the EMC compliance. If yo...

Re: MicMix MasterRoom Spring Reverb Project

The Orban reverb was one of the nicest sounding units using "Hammond" springs. It used a "floating threshold detector" that seemed to do a good job. There's also one unit I'm very curious about: Fairchild had a chunky beast with springs; I remember, there was one at Studios Barclay when I worked the...

Re: MicMix MasterRoom Spring Reverb Project

I am recalling a lightbulb shunt limiter on the dedicated reverb amp/speaker combo in my Hammond M102 organ. I assume that's to address the boioioioioinnnggg. It's definitely for the protection of the reverb drive transducer, according to the note on the schematic: These lamps are used as volume li...

Re: MicMix MasterRoom Spring Reverb Project

After the first two or so the tension isn't as tight. The tension however doesn't effect the delay of the line, the number of turns does since it's torsional. In that sense it's not like a musical instrument string. Thanks for all your answers; I was more concerned about any physical damage that co...

Re: MicMix MasterRoom Spring Reverb Project

/Hi Wayne, When you have the springs cut to length, how do you attach them back to the transducers? Considering the shorter springs, wouldn't it be sensible to move one of the transducers to ensure consistent traction? If we came to a nicely working final solution, would Accutronics be interested in...

re: Universal Vibrato
Very similar to a Vox AC30 (although the latter uses noval)
