If you open it up a caterpillar may pop out.
All six decks are measuring the same. I'll consider myself lucky if a caterpillar crawls out. I have a feeling I'm S.O.L.

Re: T Attenuator Termination Kluge

By series resistance are you describing the wiper contact resistance between wiper and top of the pot? 25 ohms seems a little high, 700 ohms seems faulty. Yes that’s what I am describing. I agree 25 ohm seems high and 700 ohm seems faulty. Unfortunately they are not made or supported anymore. I’m t...

T Attenuator Termination Kluge

I've run into an issue with one of the Output Amplifiers of my console. The P&G RF15 rotary fader I'm using has a series resistance of about 700Ω at the top of the throw. The other RF15 is less than 25Ω. It took me a while to suss that out. The signal path for the Output Amplifier is: Balanced to un...

Re: ~QUESTIONS ABOUT "LOCAL"-NEGATIVE-FEEDBACK OUTPUT SECTIONS THAT ARE BASED ON A TERTIARY-WINDING OUTPUT TRANSFORMER~

Lundahl suggests the Zero Field approach with negative source impedance at least for solid state Outputs.I don't think they make a transformer with a tertiary winding for solid state. I've never looked at their offerings for tube output. Take a look at the Neumann PV46 schematic I posted. I believe ...

Re: Entropy

I may be able to send the charger in for repair. The service department of the place I bought it needs to contact the manufacturer. I went to the manufacturer website but there was no direct service. You have to go through your distributor. If that doesn’t work out I’ll do some poking around. It has...

Re: Entropy

Unfortunately it looks like the battery charger is kaput. It seems like a software problem to me. It runs through a diagnostic, fails the diagnostic and goes into failure mode. It had a two year warrantee and I'm four years in. I guess the $250 for a new one will be less hassle than trying to get th...

Re: Entropy

The new batteries worked. I need to try charging the set I removed to see if the battery charger is working or not. I'm now investigating installing solar panels to charge the batteries. When I was first getting going the batteries needed to work without exception. I couldn't take the chance of arri...

Re: Entropy

AGM or glass matt is a sealed battery. Lead acid are unsealed and need maintenance. You have to keep water in the battery. Lead acid also corrode so you have to keep the terminals clean. There is outgassing with lead acid so they are not suitable for indoor use. I got the new batteries. They come fu...

Re: Entropy

did you search this..? there might be some way to resurrect a sick/dead battery... I found a few but don't know what battery technology you are dealing with. JR PS: From watching too many cowboy movies as a kid, bushwhacking, meant to ambush somebody. It looks like there is no way to resurrect them...

Re: Entropy

I tried to charge the solar batteries today to bring to the mountains. They wouldn't charge. After doing a bit of searching I think I have only myself to blame. I let them sit depleted for nine months. It seems a 70% charge is best for long term storage and preserving battery life. It's going to be ...
