Re: Phono Transfer System Construction Information

I guess if I use the MM preamp as an MC preamp with a transformer in front of it I should use 0 ohm so it doesn’t contribute to the termination resistance. I think that’s what I did last time for the DL103 MC pre. I should open that up and take another look.

MM Preamp R4 & R5

Wayne,
I went through the threads but couldn't find or missed an explanation of the function of R4 and R5 in the flat MM Phono Preamp. It says the value can be 0Ω -499Ω. Could you explain what the function of these resistors is and how to pick a value? I think I knew this at one time but forgot.

I hadn’t been paying attention to this because I thought it was a distortion box, which is not high on the list. The limiter function is very interesting to me though. I might need one of these.

Re: Transfer Filter / Neumann HT75 Replacement

This was an excellent addition. I immediately put everything to use. The Widener sounds excellent. I even did two knob clicks on a track.

Re: Transfer Filter / Neumann HT75 Replacement

Thanks Wayne! I like lacing cord for in chassis wiring because it’s soft. With cable ties it’s easy to scratch or cut yourself when everything is a tight fit. I don’t do it like the Navy manual says but you really need to set up a jig to do it that way. I’m winging it when I make these. I use it lik...

Re: Transfer Filter / Neumann HT75 Replacement

A2F3D050-EA45-429C-B511-5A3453844346.jpeg Here is a second Transfer Filter unit for Shaker Desk. It also includes the Stereo Width Controller. The LRS-1 was an early version of the Stereo Widener that added an insert on the side chain. The sidechain insert isn’t being used so the LRS-1 and the Comp...
