Yeah, I see even in limit with R7 active it's close enough to zero Z to not count, putting SC input at point of reduction.

Doug: Are there many (any?) vintage pieces that aren't feed-back topology? Without the gain cell having linear dB control, or even "linear" linear it seems like feed-forward topology would have trouble with gain control ballistics. Another Doug question: Have you ever looked at the Texar ...

Good exploration, gents. The antique tube Gates Level Devil has a similar curve I think, and I need to dig out the manual and ponder it's workings. It has to be a different control mechanism. I believe it also has a gating system, like an Audimax, to prevent max gain in silent passages. I remember i...

I have Audio Cyclopediea's 1 and 2, and then also I think 3rd edition of this book, which I believe is continuation of AC? How much is new here compared to 3rd edition? I didn't find any TOC listed.
