Re: Split Power Supply Load Balancing

Picking up this where I left off... The larger current draw from the positive supply caused the Texar Audio Prism's power transformer magnetics to saturate. The imbalance was due to a large amount LED current from the positive supply returning to ground. (An LM3914 was used so there was no choice.)...

Re: Gentle persuasion over time

I am missing right tools. I must invest in a long handle axe. I only have a small one, no good on that stump, it just bounces on it and that hurt my wrist. I need a sledge hammer and wedges. I need a big SDS drill for wood. I tried the ones I have for concrete, that is no good. Then I will be set to...

Re: Gentle persuasion over time

My large, cherry tree stump made some progress.
The fire over it regularly fed with logs is a slow process, but what is done, is done. Now, there is some depth below ground level.

I will call it, good enough and let it rod underground.

Re: Gentle persuasion over time

I enjoyed making bombs with chemicals I will not reveal here, that made so much trouble we had, the police all upset in the neighborhood. So we stopped this dangerous activity soon enough ( nobody got hurt ) when scared by a very big explosion, I could feel the shock wave at the back of my neck, run...

Re: Gentle persuasion over time

Extracting large stumps is a lot of hard work. There is much BS on internet and snake oil about this. Apart from the grinding machine and the good old way digging, sawing, prying...nothing really works. Such hard work, I have seen in Sweden a field where it was clear large stumps had been blasted wi...

Re: Entropy

I changed an electric cooking plate for a new one. A four burner plate, one of the four radiants was not working anymore. I repaired the old one. That was a wire cut at a spade connector. Now the heating works fine at the four burners, however the repaired one makes a noise the others don't. They cy...

Re: Gentle persuasion over time

This stump burning was a failure. About no burning. The holes I drilled are too small. I need much larger and deeper. Meanwhile getting drills large enough, I keep going burning wood over the stump, I have plenty of wood I want to get rid off. This fire radiates a lot of heat from embers, but heat d...

Re: Gentle persuasion over time

Very good heating system you have. I have water central heating, the boiler runs on gas from Poutine, I guess. I have a fire place to burn wood, but it has not been used for ages. Unsafe, there have been bees nests in the chimney and no maintenance. Today I worked on the cherry tree stump. I am tryi...

Re: Gentle persuasion over time

Good work.
Do you sharpen your chains, yourself ?
Why don't you use all that wood to heat part of your house.
