Re: looking for fan cooled heat sink.

I've seen a couple interesting infomercials. One shows a single burner induction cooktop, while I am not leaning that way. The second more interesting one is a powered pressure cooker, with programmable control... Now were getting closer. If the pressure cooker had good insulation and robust tempera...

Re: LED Landscape Light Controller QX5252

That looks vaguely like mine, but I don't recall seeing an inductor and mine charges the battery using an external diode. The low voltage turn off looks like similar logic (low voltage is off) but mine has an internal pull up, that one looks like a high z input. I turn mine off with an open collecto...

Re: Headphone stage & preamp output

In any case I still can't imagine if or how this parallel circuit will be affected if I connect Vref to the joint point of IC1 output and non-inverting pin in IC2. I still do not follow. There is no Vref in that schematic. If you are laking about connecting a V/2 to + input of IC1 instead of ground...

Re: Headphone stage & preamp output

I'm assuming, hopefully right, that I can set my gain, using a pot as I had done on my other designs, the ones with a boost output. The idea of taking Rf to the junction of the 10 ohm resistors looks like a clever one. Neither was I planning on using the Zobel. not really clever just circuit design...

Re: Headphone stage & preamp output

I have used variants on that (paralleling two or more opamps) to get more drive current. The use of degeneration resistors in series with each output prevents the multiple opamps from fighting each other over mV offset differences. If you instead connect the feedback resistor Rf to the junction of t...

Re: RFI protection concepts

Looks pricey to me... Looks like something a customer would pay that much for to pass emissions testing without a PCB redesign.

Re: Entropy

The simple 100k to NPN is prettty close... last night the modified lamp turned on 15 minutes sooner than the stock LDR controlled lamp, but for the second night in a row was brighter later at night too... that is not logical... all equal it should dim 15 minutes sooner too. This morning I swapped th...

Re: Entropy

I took apart one the other day that had a single resistor and a 4-terminal TO-92 device. I'll try to get the part number of the part. I found some Advanced linear devices dual and quad arrays with 0.4V Vgs(th) but they look expensive. ALD110804 and ALD110904 ====== OK here's another angle,,, There ...

Re: Entropy

Well the solar powered driveway lamp is still causing me drama. My work around causes the modified light to turn on sooner than the LDR controlled lamp, and runs out of battery at late night sooner than the LDR controlled lamp. Last week I retried the LDR twice and even though it was working on the ...

Re: looking for fan cooled heat sink.

In light of the fact that this thread has gotten hundreds of views, I should mention that my thermal igloo idea is not recommended for use with a gas burner. The gas stove needs air turnover for the flame. I guess one could punch a hole in top for exhaust, and slots for fresh air inlet on the bottom...
