Dallas Tornadoes

Relax in southern comfort on the east bank of the Mississippi. You're just around the corner from Beale Street and Sun Records. Watch the ducks, throw back a few and tell us what's on your mind.

Those two airborne objects are tandem trailers:

I saw the news reports and thought of you... sounds like a big disruption for dallas airports too...

Living in MS you get a little blasé about tornados but you don't ever want to experience one up close and personal.

Well, they're pretty common here too - but usually in isolation. This storm spawned about 5 or so at one time.

We were lucky here. There were cells on either side of us about 3-5 miles out. The city of Lancaster was wiped out in 1990 and has taken a very big hit again.

Those shots were taken by a news helipcopter. The zoom was high but not the kind of weather you want to be flying around in.

No deaths have been reported which is incredible and very few injuries.

I was leaving Desoto, just east of Lancaster, as the sirens went off. We had lots of warning.

I think at last count there were 15 tornadoes and only ten injuries.

A tractor-trailer, not one of the two airborne ones but from the same area, was found over two miles downwind on top of a house.
