What I found written by Cherry was an AES paper and not much use.
The Wireless World article had what I was looking for.
This figure has given me an idea:

I thought Cherry published more than one AES paper about amp design. IIRC he wrote one identifying small distortion effects from things like wiring resistance or PCB traces inside power amp stages. But that was back when I was still reading the AES journals.

Yes he did.
The first Wireless World article he published a year or so earlier dealt with distortion from wiring and PC traces.
I saw it in the collection - I think it was '95.
