I'm not sure this is a great loss.
The 36V LME49720 may be EOL disco'd but if the 44V LME49860 is still active that's even better.
If the LM4562 is still around then the LME49720 effectively is.
The LME49710 is a single and for my money you still can't beat the 5534 now sourced only by JRC as the NJM5534D.
EDIT: Forgot TI still? makes the NE5534...
In low-level apps I found these parts to be noisy.
The burst noise was a problemo and the low Ibias not worth the noise.
I'm not sure this is a great loss.

Bummer. Although, it seems from the announcement that was posted that the LME49720MAX is the designated replacement; Wonder how long that will stick around. No replacement for the single opmp version, which I was actually planning to use over a package with an unused opamp I'd have to power.

My hunch is quite awhile since they are still strong in providing SIP packages of many op amps as well.No through hole version for the listed the replacements. Wonder how long the NJR part will stick around.
I would stay away from designing anything new with a single (or quad) however. They're just getting harder to find.

Yeah. I was already planning to change to a dual package for the one place I am using it. And when it comes down to it, I don't think alternative parts would require much change.

I even use quad resistors in designs because you get 4 resistors for one machine placement.

Most of the LME series is EOL. Last buy date is next September as I'm sure you all know. However, the LME49710/20 lives on in the TO-99 package. as well as the LM equivalent. The 44V versions are completely gone. I was told by TI that they decided to end a particular manufacturing process as the main reason for discontinuation. The rep I talked to said that many people are upset by this change.

I'm pretty sure the TO-99 version is being showed as active because they have tons of them in inventory that didn't sell. I'd be scared to do anything that would jepordize sales of those.
The TO-99 LME49710 would make an excellent MCI/Sony metal "2003" T-9410-376-1 replacement at reduced supply voltages.
I wouldn't be surprised to see On Semiconductor or Fairchild pick up many of these parts.
