Nice, Craig.
Now what about using some of TI's first schematic here and see if there's a way to add Cordell's FET input?

Problem is Cordell put part of the RIAA filter on the last stage, didn't he?

Re: Phono Preamps
Sorry, but we do differ over this, and it seems that more than a lot. I'm not a dentist and I never wanted to impress anyone. In fact rarely invited anyone to listen to my home to impress them on my sound. But I did advice many on how to improve their audio. As I said I deal with professional audio,...

Re: Phono Preamps
Has anyone tried a bit more sophisticated turntables, arms and cartridges than Technics?
Any Thorens or Linn, with better arms and needles will make a lot of a difference in improving the audio from any LP.
Not to speak of even more expensive turntables.

Re: Linear Systems LSK489 Application Note by Cordell
Thanks for the tip. I will go there. Where's that P100 to have a look? Some people that deal with pro recordings today, and use high quality gear, may differ on your opinion that LPs are obsolete, if played with a quality player and through a high quality preamp. IMHO you have to spend a lot more of...

Re: Flat Phono Preamp Based on John's P10 and 2SK389
Did you build a RIAA premp using the LME49720?
It looks fairly simple on part pdf:

Just curious about its sound, at least compared to other high quality designs.

Re: Linear Systems LSK489 Application Note by Cordell
I was about to ask of suggestions for RIAA MM designs using still available parts, and searching I found this Bob Cordell suggestion. It looks interesting, even if there are two things I want to avoid: electrolytic capacitors C3 and C5. Is there any other design you might suggest that has no capacit...

Re: Design programs
Well, if I could I would use an old DOS program that served me very well. It was called Trax, and I got to do great things with it. Unfortunately it doesn't run in XP or Win 7. It did in Win 95, but it's no use trying to run it in anything new. It won't. The files I could import with Protel and used...

Re: Design programs
Thanks, no expresspcb for me.
This is a commercial product we are talking about, so I am trying to see my options.
Apparently nobody has dealt with Altium, because I would appreciate comments from anyone who has.

Re: Design programs
Well, I'm not sure things will be simple all the time. They are for now,
I will have a look at DipTrace. Thank you.
