Re: ribbon cables
If you do decide to use ribbons for unbalanced audio I'd interdigitate ground with signal to reduce crosstalk. With it soldered on both ends you eliminate the "connectoritis" problem. I can't remember which brand of console I used to work with that used these for bussing power and mix buse...

Re: ribbon cables
Didn't we cover some of that here? http://www.proaudiodesignforum.com/forum/php/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=379&hilit=ribbon+cable&start=10 I never cared for them much and in older products with the open-ended IDC. I did have issue with them failing. The SSL is full of the computer-grade but tho...

Re: Residential Lighting with LEDs: Retrofitting the Pink Ra
A19-series update: After living with the four socket clusters I've decided that the Sylvania 40W snow cone lamps are going to make me go blind. For whatever reason, the GE62180 lamps just appear brighter despite the fact that the output, in lumens, are about the same. Four of the GE62180 light a 12...

Re: Cyril Bateman Capacitor Sound Archive
You're welcome Mike.
Thanks again to Peter V. who sent me the original jpgs from the WW series. Just about everytime I would find links to the originals they'd get broken.

Re: An Improved Servo for the THAT1510 and THAT1512

One product I inherited when I went to work at Peavey in the mid '80s was a 4 track cassette deck... this unit was finished and in the early stages of production, when the lead engineer quit... This was a difficult product to get out of final assembly becaus...

ivi TV's Retranmission of OTA Broadcasts
This is getting real interesting. Just found this Intellectual Property Law Blog site discussing ivi TV's retransmission of over-the-air broadcasts: Media Revolutionary or Copyright Infringer? The authors write: In 1999, the same New York federal court now hearing the broadcasters’ and copyright own...

Low beta was a frequent complaint. They're going after the MAT-04 replacement market.
