Re: Mid Side M-S Matrix Construction Information
sr1200. I found the original document link on the web server: http://www.ka-electronics.com/PicoComp/PCB-Kits/Documents/PSU/PSU_Documents.htm The values you show are about right based on the BOM there. C3 is meant to be a film or mono ceramic around 100 nF. Here's a ripple estimator: http://www.proa...

Re: SMT passives for audio
We went from 0603 to 0805 resistors for the lower values. In larger values there's unlikely to be a difference but in the low values where the signal current was a significant percentage of the power dissipation the tempco caused modulation. I agree with John that with caps bigger isn't necessarily ...

Here's the Susumu link:

Availability of these resistors with "comfort sound" through distribution was an issue:

Re: SMT passives for audio
I seem to recall reading something that the physically larger components are better behaved. Like given two resistors of the same value and composition, the larger of the two would be better behaved. We up-sized resistors by one size on a later spin of the board and changed vendors to reduce the se...

Re: SMT passives for audio
Thanks for joining us! There are some pretty significant differences in SMT resistors which, due to signal-induced self-heating, have better or worse THD-3. On a recent demo board THAT used Susumu because they tested better. Those are available from Digi-Key. Dave Hill of Crane Song shared some of h...

Re: MicMix MasterRoom Spring Reverb Project
The only one I remember having a mechanical VU was the MasterRoom B-series for broadcast. The model number doesn't seem to fit. I'd be intersted in seeing a picture. If there is a problem with the driver or electronics the parts will be numbered. IIRC the driver transistors were Motorola TO-66 devic...

Fortunately it got up to almost 60 the day after I posted this. I tried to channel my inner yankee but there just wasn't one to channel.
