Re: Pico Final Build
Thanks Doug. I'm shooting to have the console frame installed by the end of the summer. It won't be complete but I should be able to get a four channel lacquer transfer path, metering and monitor. That will duplicate the functions of my current Neumann SP75. I have someone helping me and she is taki...

Pico Final Build
Well, it's been a few years but I finally got around to doing the final builds for both of the four channel units that are destined for the lacquer mastering console I'm building. I'm very happy with them. It's a fairly stripped down build features wise. It just has Attack, Release, Ratio and Thresh...

I guess the word 'duh' applies here.mediatechnology wrote:Actually you could just re-define the inputs at the THAT124X calling "-" "+."Could I flip the output polarity by reversing pins 1 & 8 on the DRV?

Re: Dual Class-A Line and Headphone Output Board Documents
This would be really nice as line preamp with gain for my mastering console. It needs to be able to drive multiple loads at once. It looks like there is plenty of room on the board to mount a daughter board with an opamp for gain. I don't mind an impedance balanced output. There wouldn't be enough r...

Re: Dual Class-A Line and Headphone Output Board Documents
Hey Guys,
I haven't checked in for a while. This board looks great. Great job as usual Wayne and Roger. I'll have to dig out the chip data sheets and try to figure out what all that fancyness is doing. I'm sure I can learn a lot by studying it.

Re: Evolution and Origin of the SuperBal Variable Gain Input
I'm pretty confused by the Super Bal arrangement. What does taking the positive polarity signal from the voltage divider in the input opamp feedback and summing? it with the inverting amp signal accomplish?

Re: Flat Phono Preamp Based on John's P10 and 2SK389
MM cartridges have high inductance and rising impedance vs. frequency. The noise current contribution is more significant than it would be in a mic preamp where the noise voltage is typically low but the noise current high. Those are some good hints. I will study the data sheet a little before aski...

Re: Flat Phono Preamp Based on John's P10 and 2SK389
The stars must be aligned. I want to use this design because you can run the front end floating. I like that idea for cutting studios because ground loops and long cable runs are sometimes unavoidable. I would like to have a better understanding of what makes this design optimized for a high source ...

Re: Mid Side M-S Matrix Uses No Precision Resistors
Paul - Do you suppose that the popularity vinyl released today (that presumably sounds better due to not being over-processed and slammed to the wall to the degree that CDs are) will somehow cause people in the labels to ask if this CD loudness war shoud be stopped? It's a hope of mine. I don't thi...
