Re: Entropy

It is a low tech design using a 555 and a few discrete components. Still a very useful part. I recall you saying that you'd never used one. You're in a small club. I met the guy who designed it back in the 70s (Hans Camenzind RIP). I never used one in a commercial design. Back when it was the new s...

Re: Entropy

Scratching another one off my to do list, I used my new "Y" driver bits and took apart my previous sump pump. I was looking for a blocked air vent and found a ball bearing check valve. The ball was stuck up, sealing the vent hole, but it dropped easily when I touched it with a nail point. Shaking it...

Re: Mask-Wearing: This Is Our Life Now (Or is It?)

Last month a Bend OR, HS runner wearing a mandated face mask passed out and face planted at the 800M finish line. https://images.dailycaller.com/image/width=1280,height=549,fit=cover,f=auto/https://cdn01.dailycaller.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/Runner-collapses--e1619712778807.jpg My Post office a...

Re: Entropy

Slowly getting caught up after a week of making sawdust and CO2 out in the yard. -Finished resetting my sump pump and hopefully preventing future tip over...besides being top heavy when the pump starts up it generates some torque in the outlet discharge hose that tests stability. I wonder how we'll ...

Re: Entropy

Today after I finished making sawdust and CO2 in my yard I decided to reset the sump pump down in the crawl space,,, It had tilted over again. I plugged in a drop light so I could see what was going on down there. It appears that there were a few real bricks set into the sand at the bottom of...

Re: Entropy

I just used the last two iron on patches to repair my pants of many colors. https://www.proaudiodesignforum.com/forum/php/download/file.php?id=769&t=1 There is now one more color, a very dark blue bridging across the red to the light blue patch on the outside, and a another vertical patch on the in...

Re: Entropy

My replacement (plastic) watering can arrived... I determined the leak in my old one was not easily patchable (cracked along a seam). The new one is far superior, but still cheap blow mold technology so may last only another 15 years. ====== Still making sawdust and smoke in the yard today but I not...

Re: Mask-Wearing: This Is Our Life Now (Or is It?)

Potus has called TX and MS governors neanderthals for rejecting mask mandates. I'm OK with that...

Re: Gentle persuasion over time

I just connected a couple widely spaced dots... Dot #1 I had difficultly rethreading the 1" wide nylon strap back into the come along, as if it was too thick for the design. Dot #2 occurred a few years ago when the come along was new... The thickness of the 1" wide strap built up to the point where ...
