A Precision Polarity (Phase) Inverter Using the THAT1240

Here's another installment in the THAT1240 circuit collection. It's a precision polarity inverter that is a variation of the Graeme, Jung et al "phase flippers." What makes this one unique is the use of the THAT1240s precision matched internal resistors for gain setting. This assures dB accurate inv...

A Discussion About True Power Summing for Stereo Compressors

This was originally published by me in the Prodigy-Pro forum. The Pico Compressor Stereo Edition will be using a detection method called "True Power Summing." I thought it would be a good idea to re-visit the subject as it is one of the key design elements of the Stereo Pico Compressor and is a buil...

Re: A Direct-Coupled Input-Capacitorless Active Mic Preamp

I wanted to let everyone know that I haven't forgotten this project and I just found what I think to be the "perfect" gain switch for this preamp and others: The GoldPoint Mini-V Custom. https://www.ka-electronics.com/DC_Preamp/GoldPoint_Mini-V_Custom.jpg http://www.goldpt.com/prices.html This unit ...

Re: Using the THAT1646 As A Power Transistor Pre-Driver

I've been meaning to get back to this project and incorporate a Vbe multiplier instead of an LED or diode bias string. A diode bias string required too much reference current to put the output into 75 mA Class-A. An LED reference, divided down by a divider, worked quite well as a voltage reference b...

Re: A Direct-Coupled Input-Capacitorless Active Mic Preamp

Thanks Chuck. It's a project I'm still working on although not as fast as I would like. The design is finished to the point where a one-off Vectorboard needs to be built and carried into the studio for listening tests. I'm pretty happy with the way the design worked out and should probably re-draw a...

Re: Best cities for dining?

Wow. Great post. We don't travel much anymore and tend to try off-the-beaten places locally and south in the Texas Hill Country. Our recent favorite is a place called Trios in Cedar Hill. Here's the menu: http://www.ka-electronics.com/Images/Trios_Menu.pdf The Shrimp Trompos are incredible. We also ...

SSM2000 Datasheet

Found this SSM2000 datasheet with some really nice application information. Beware that Analog Devices Re-Used this part number for an obsoleted HUSH noise reduction system.
