hello... anybody home?

Relax in southern comfort on the east bank of the Mississippi. You're just around the corner from Beale Street and Sun Records. Watch the ducks, throw back a few and tell us what's on your mind.

Thanks again. There's some rebuilding that needs to be done adding content that I did from elsewhere. I did some screen captures of topics so I can remember what was out there and I need to visit the Google cache.

BTW don't worry about stupid questions - I get a lot of free learning from those. Gus had one once something to the effect of "Why are phantom pull-up resistors only 1/4W?" It wasn't a stupid question at all and it came from someone with a lot of experience. But it made me think. Ideally they should be half watt to tolerate cable shorts and they're not usually that high-wattage in most commercial gear. It made me go off into the shop and overload a 1/4W just to see if it would recover. It did.

John started this thread and the title is so appropriate. Yes, we're home.

i can live with noise, its static i have problems with ;)

i have always been told that theres no such thing as a stupid question, just a lazy question. i try to find the information out myself, but some of it does confuse me.

then again, no man was born an expert

Hi guys,
You have a very nice looking forum here. Looks like I'll be spending way too much time on the computer instead of doing work again. :ugeek:

Cool! I used to do work with Wink Tyler and Larry Siler. Wink sold his SSL and studio off Ben White and moved up north to Roundrock I think. I haven't seen his new place yet. I don't make it to Austin much any more. I do want to make a trip to Wimberly if I can get an invite.

About the furthest south I go now is Salado. That place is hard to leave:
