Jimmy Carl Black

Relax in southern comfort on the east bank of the Mississippi. You're just around the corner from Beale Street and Sun Records. Watch the ducks, throw back a few and tell us what's on your mind.

In honor of his passing, I've changed my signature for an indeterminate period of time.

I love this quote from the obituary:
Zappa changed the group's name and, according to Black, boasted that "if you guys learn my music, I'll make you rich and famous." "He took care of half of that promise, because I'm damn sure I didn't get rich," Black recalled.

Not really famous either (in the Biblical sense). More like infamous instead.
I think it may have been Zappa who said something along the lines of (my paraphrasing, of course)...

"Fame is based mostly on lies. Infamy is based on what you actually got caught doing."

Personally, I'll choose infamy 9 days of every 10.
