I fixed my scope with a broken beer bottle!...

Relax in southern comfort on the east bank of the Mississippi. You're just around the corner from Beale Street and Sun Records. Watch the ducks, throw back a few and tell us what's on your mind.

I fixed my scope with a broken beer bottle!...

And the wife didn't seem all that impressed, if you can believe it.

The H.V. was arcing through its "spark plug wire" going to the tube, so I taped a chunk of bottle neck around it and it's happy again.

And yes, Crusty was cheap enough to first look for a bottle with no redemption value on it...

It's a Kikusui COM6100M - now with Stella Artois mod. I figured the H.V. was back down by the time I finished the beer. I was did the same mod to my '58 Chevy pickup back in the day. I think it was a Michelob then. I probably ran that coil for another year that way too...
