Frequency-Dependent Width Using the Stereo Width Controller

Post by mediatechnology »

In another thread we've shown how to use the MS Matrix or Stereo Width Controller to make an Elliptic Equalizer: viewtopic.php?f=7&t=736

This thread shows how a simple 6 dB/octave passive filter in the Stereo Width Controller's Side Insert can be used to increase width in the midrange and above.
By introducing a midrange breakpoint, width can be increased without introducing additional LF vertical modulation and undoing the work of the Elliptic EQ.
The process is fully mono-compatible.
