Voting day in Ireland

Relax in southern comfort on the east bank of the Mississippi. You're just around the corner from Beale Street and Sun Records. Watch the ducks, throw back a few and tell us what's on your mind.

Voting day in Ireland

Post by Tubetec »

Today we have a general election here in Ireland ,
For the first time in my life I wont be voting .
When I went to cast my vote in the previous general election in 2016 the staff at the polling station were taking photos of people entering the voting hall with their smart phones .
I contacted the chief returning officer and a new set of strict rules governing mobile phone usage by election staff was issued in my county ,directly as a result of my complaint . You would think every other county in the country would have followed suit , but apparently they havent .

Anyway I will be exercising my right to inspect the rules in the voting halls are being respected and properly applied ,
for the first time ever 10 years after my original complaint , members of the public are being told their not allowed take selfies of themselves casting their votes .
